What luxury travel is

Writing this in a peaceful terrace in my favorite island

I am writing this first post while having a coffee in my favorite island. This island is part of the Balearic Islands, each with their own charm, this is the calmest but it is what I was craving after weeks of comes and goes, the business of the city, meetings, calls.. I really needed to disconnect.

This time I chose to stay in a boutique hotel. It is a typical island building that has been renovated to make it more modern and comfortable while maintaining its spirit. The owner is English, leaving here since a while, she treats everything with delicacy and wants to make you feel at home: from the cozy towels to the wooden key holders. You even have a basket in your room to carry your towel to the beach, the same one you probably hang behind your home door. The breakfast buffet is full of different nationalities, but in a calm and relaxed atmosphere: the rest of the world can wait.

I am Spanish, I live in Spain, have been working in the tourism and hospitality industry for many years. I keep receiving news about the growth in tourists, overcapacity, high season, overcrowded buses and cruises, standard packages... as a traveler myself I found it difficult to find an authentic place that matches my standards and create unforgettable memories.

What is luxury? It's a very complicated question, especially within travel. Luxury can be anything, from a yacht trip, a glass of wine on a cliff or even your first zip of coffee in the mornings. There really isn't an exact definition, nor do you have to overpay for it. Real luxury means living a memorable experience tailored to you, your tastes, preferences, and needs. In that moment, in that certain place. In an increasingly globalized and standardized world, it's hard to find something truly ours and personalized. Something special that really matters to us: we all have our own idea of luxury.

Luxscape is a project born with much love from an idea in my head over a while. I don't believe we're all the same, and neither should traveling be the same for all of us: one size doesn’t fit all. I have been working in the last year to collect all the knowledge of my experiences in one place to give it to you, your family and your beloved ones. I invite you to try and book your next trip with us. To explore, dream, and enjoy.

Finishing my drink. I'll leave you to get ready for some local shopping, get some typical food and visit a furniture store. After I will jump on the beach or the pool. Tonight, the owner will cook us freshly caught lobster with fried eggs and potatoes, a combination that's both unusual and simple, yet so exquisite. I'll order some champagne to celebrate this opening and you're reading this my dear traveler.

See you soon!
